March 25, 2026 — The inaugural Yangtze River Delta Low-Altitude Industry, Technology & Finance Conference 2026, co-hosted with the “Electronics Manufacturing Empowering High-Quality Development of the Low-Altitude Economy” summit, was grandly held in Shanghai. Jointly initiated by government, industry, academia, research institutions, and financial entities across the Yangtze River Delta region, the conference focused on the emerging needs, opportunities, and challenges arising from the deep integration of the low-altitude economy and intelligent electronics manufacturing. Its goal is to establish a national demonstration hub for collaborative innovation in the low-altitude economy.

As a pioneer in intelligent low-altitude flight, Dr. Zheng Hongjiang, Chief Architect of SKYLA’s Intelligent Integration Platform, was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech titled “Exploration and Insights into eVTOL Intelligent Integration Platforms.” During his presentation, he unveiled for the first time SKYLA’s self-developed IIS (Intelligent Integrated System)—the world’s first software-defined intelligent platform for eVTOLs—redefining the “digital foundation” of low-altitude aircraft.

In his speech, Dr. Zheng emphasized: “Faced with the dual challenges of a trillion-yuan low-altitude market and complex urban airspace, traditional avionics architectures can no longer meet the next generation of manned eVTOLs’ demanding requirements for safety, intelligence, and evolvability.” To address this, SKYLA has developed IIS—the world’s first open intelligent integration platform specifically designed for low-altitude manned flight—based on the “Software-Defined Aircraft” (SDA) philosophy. More than just an avionics system, IIS serves as the eVTOL’s “intelligent brain” and “digital lifeline.”

Built upon a core principle of hardware-software decoupling and an open architecture, IIS deeply integrates intelligent cockpit systems with flight control, offering five key advantages:

  1. Flexible Adaptation Across Scenarios: Rapidly switches between passenger transport, logistics, emergency response, and other mission modes.
  2. Continuous Iteration & Incremental Certification: Capable of post-delivery evolution through software upgrades, lowering certification barriers.
  3. High-Value Software-Defined Features: Hardware remains unchanged while functionalities continuously evolve, enabling high-margin service offerings.
  4. “Thinking” Aircraft: Leverages closed-loop flight data to enable autonomous optimization and context-aware decision-making.
  5. Remote Operations for Cost Efficiency: Supports over-the-air (OTA) updates and predictive maintenance, enhancing aircraft availability and operational profitability.

IIS System Architecture Overview
Edge Intelligence + Cloud Collaboration + Digital Twin + AI Enablement = The Intelligent Evolution Engine for eVTOLs

The IIS platform is built upon four technological pillars:

  • Edge Intelligence: Onboard real-time perception, centimeter-level positioning, dynamic obstacle avoidance, and emergency takeover capabilities.
  • Cloud Collaboration: Utilizes 6G and low-orbit satellite connectivity for real-time 3D airspace map updates, lightweight AI model deployment, and fleet-wide collaborative learning.
  • Digital Twin: Creates a high-fidelity virtual twin for each eVTOL, enabling simulation validation, incident reconstruction, and VR-based pilot training.
  • AI Enablement: Employs deep learning and reinforcement learning to autonomously execute emergency protocols, predict critical component lifespans, and deliver natural human-machine interaction and intelligent cockpit management.

Open Collaboration to Co-Build a Low-Altitude Intelligent Ecosystem

To accelerate industrial adoption, IIS offers three partnership models:

  • Standardized Full-Stack Delivery: Plug-and-play solutions enabling OEMs and operators to achieve rapid certification and efficient operations.
  • Customized Development Services: Deep collaboration to fulfill specialized mission requirements or brand differentiation.
  • Open Development Kits (SDKs/APIs): Empowers OEMs and tech companies with in-house R&D capabilities to co-develop applications and enrich the ecosystem.

Embracing the “City in the Sky,” Building the Future of Low-Altitude Mobility Together

The low-altitude economy has now been elevated to a strategic emerging industry under China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), with market size projected to exceed RMB 3.5 trillion by 2035. Standing at this pivotal moment in history, SKYLA will leverage its IIS Intelligent Integration Platform as the driving engine, partnering across the industrial chain to advance urban air mobility from “able to fly” to “intelligently flying.”

Let every eVTOL possess the power to think.
Let every low-altitude flight be trustworthy.
Let safe, green, and convenient aerial transportation become universally accessible!
